Long Weekend Cannot Slow Down the Zeebs

The Groton girls returned from a long spring weekend and hopped right into an ISL battle with Brooks. It was a gloomy day with rain clouds threatening all afternoon, but the weather would not hamper the Zeebs effort.

Doubles went out first, with competitive matches at all three positions. Groton would take the point at #1, as #2 and #3 fought off some good tactical play from their opponents to sweep it.

Singles would follow a similar path. The Groton girls picked up wins at #1, #2, #4, #5, and #6, and then the teams all gathered to watch a spirited tilt at #3. Big serves and strong base line prowess led to a 6-2, 6-2 win and a 9-0 victory for the team.

A special shoutout to our fans for showing up today. Several parents, grandparents, friends, classmates, and siblings were in attendance today. The team even had a new fan, Bernard the Rabbit, who came to watch.
