Congratulations Division 1 Athletes!

Congratulations to Groton’s new Division 1 athletes! Sixth Formers Ronan Doherty and Anthony Romano formally celebrated their college commitments on November 11, the day when many athletes sign National Letters of Intent.

Ronan and Anthony, both lacrosse standouts, are heading to Notre Dame and University of Richmond respectively.

Groton’s boys varsity lacrosse coach and Director of Athletics Bob Low said that both players have a unique set of lacrosse and leadership skills that inspire better play in those around them. “Obviously these two kids are talented—physically and skill-wise—for lacrosse, but what pushes them to the next level are the work ethic, the grit, the toughness, the unselfishness, the team-first attitude, and their humility,” he said. “Coaching staffs want high-character kids."

Groton looks forward to watching these athletes make an impact at the college level. Groton's Division 3 committed athletes will be announced in December. "I am proud of all of our college-bound athletes," said Mr. Low, "and all athletes who don the Groton School jersey."
