Brooks, round 2

Today was our day to host the rematch. Lauren Ash netted the first goal. A star rookie line of Kaeleigh Ryan Kirby, Maddie Cutie, and Dayana Genis, surprised that they were going out together without a more experienced player instead of one of them, played a tremendous shift, at both ends of the ice, breaking up some plays, and preventing Brooks from scoring; the cheering from the bench was raucous. The end of the first period had us down 1-2, but Lena Aloise had countless spectacular saves. Ash scored again in the second period and again in the third, while Brooks scored four and then three. Sunny Ma added to the Groton tally in the third period. Unfortunately it was not enough. Goalie Aloise was easily the star of the game for Groton. Had she not played as well as she did, Brooks might have scored at least 20 more goals.
