Snow Day?
On an unseasonably snowy April afternoon, the Groton Girls welcomed St. Paul’s to town for what turned into a dominant performance inside Pratt Rink. Despite the unexpected weather, the fans showed up in force, and the team gave them plenty to cheer about.
St. Paul’s arrived short a few players, but even at full strength, it would have been tough to stop the Lady Zebras on a day like this. The match kicked off with doubles play, where Groton delivered a clinic in net play. Sharp volleys, aggressive positioning, and thunderous overheads led to a commanding sweep across all doubles courts.
Special shoutout to Claire, who made her Varsity debut in an exciting exhibition match.
Singles action picked up right where doubles left off. Groton showcased an impressive blend of pace, precision, and finesse, dictating the tempo and never letting up. Every singles match went Groton’s way, sealing a dominant 9-0 victory for the team.
Next up: The Battle for Groton Township, as Lawrence Academy rolls into town on Monday. The team is locked in, and they'll look to carry this momentum into the rest of the season.
