News Detail - Zebra Tales

Packed Parents Weekend

On our small Circle, you would never expect the campus to be teeming with as much energy as it was on Parents Weekend.
The buzz made the Circle seem like a main attraction, a state fair that people flocked to. Families converged on Groton, Massachusetts for parent-teacher conferences but stayed for the festivities, the first of which was the highly anticipated Friday night boys soccer game. Students crammed the sideline of the newly lit turf, decked out in Groton gear. The whole school roared together as the game got underway, and the cheering only became louder when the Zebras netted an early goal to take the lead. After the opponent tied the game up, the fans spent the rest of the game in suspense, until one heroic Third Former found the back of the net and sent the student section into a frenzy. When the final whistle blew, we rushed the field to celebrate as if we were the ones who had won a 90 minute soccer game.

The following day, the circle was busy once again. Every Groton team was playing at home for students and parents to witness. Regardless of the outcomes, it was a day full of Groton spirit. Students got to spend time with their families and cheer on fellow Zebras. This one weekend every fall, our little campus is full of life.
