Groton wins at home against St. Paul's
Groton's girls took full advantage of the opportunity to race at home for the first time this season, and nearly every girl who raced posted their best times of the season on Saturday - many of them more than a minute faster than their previous bests. Those tremendous individual performances paved the way for an awesome team result - wins over defending ISL champion St. Paul's School in both the varisty and JV.
Maddy Forbess, Abby Kirk, Hanna Kim and Eliza Greenhill took 2, 3, 4, and 5 to grab a win for the varsity. Delaney Tantillo (7th), Riya Malhotra (11th) and Marianne Lu (13th) ran great races and rounded out the varsity finishers for Groton.
Eleonor Wolf, Verity Lynch, Brianna Calareso, Margot French, and Annie Colloredo-Mansfeld ran as a tight pack and claimed 1-5 in the JV scoring. Catherine Qiao and Min Shin displaced to set the JV score at 15-45.
This was an awesome day for our entire team, and every girl contributed to the team's success with positive attitude, support for teammates, and a commitment to implementing the approach we practiced all week. In acknolwedgment of the team's accomplishments, Girls' Cross Country was named Groton's team of the week!
