BB&N at home
At home against BB&N, with a handful of challenges, as a couple of our stalwarts were unavailable for the game. The score suggests otherwise, but this was a great game. We were beaten by a very good goalie who turned away quite a few strong and well-placed shots while Groton played very well, looking more and more like a team in terms of passing and skills, keeping the puck for much of the time in the offensive zone, and digging deep and hard. Lauren Ash put Groton’s first score on the board in the second period. Sunny Ma followed with another in the third period. Eliza Brooks was the workhorse of the game, skating hard, taking frequent shifts, and never quitting. With tried and true goalie Lena Aloisie fighting a bug, Hanna El-Jeaan put on the pads yesterday for practice. Again, though the score suggests otherwise, she had many remarkable saves after only one day of practice; the score could have been at least twice what it was had she not played so well.
