Day 12: A Bittersweet Farewell Concert in Prague

Jess Shapiro
After a very successful concert we made a late night trek to Prague–allegedly the most beautiful city in Europe (but this remained to be seen).

The next day we enjoyed a beautiful walking tour of Prague where we saw the astronomical clock, the royal palace/gardens, walked up some stairs, and some SPECTACULAR VIEWS. The verdict? Prague is indeed absolutely stunning. We wandered the city for a few hours before arriving at Church of St. Gallen, where we rehearsed and prepared for our last concert in Europe and the last Groton concert for the seniors.

Objectively, this was our best concert. Each note was crisp yet passionate and the orchestra and the chamber musicians played harmoniously. The hard work of the orchestra this school year and the hard work of the seniors throughout their time at Groton was more than evident. While a bittersweet moment, we gave Prague a brilliant concert and we are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished on this trip and during the school year.

With only Leipzig and Germany left to visit, we are excited to continue our engagement with music. Instead of performing, however, we will be watching!
