Exploring Medieval Manhattan

Faculty Chaperones
Our group dived into a historical walking tour full of legends, serial killers, and ghost stories! Upon returning to campus, we optimized our time to have our first rehearsal session and full run-through since the school year ended.
We were greeted by our amazing Blue Badge Tour guide, Andy. She guided us on a walking tour across the Royal Mile to the Scottish Parliament. Along the way, there were stops such as Greyfriars Bobby Grave, Maggie Dickson's, and the World's End to name a few. Andy gave our group utter chills and suspense as she retold the stories of serial killers, those who were hung but escaped their deadly fate (gasp!), and pointed out the old brass markings in the street where Edinburgh's gate used to be. Her cheeky punch lines and rich history were a crowd favorite!

When we finally made it to the Scottish Parliament, our group got to be immersed in the modern and abstract architecture. The idea behind their design was to reflect their intention for transparency to the public of the political decisions and processes. They even had a grassy yard full of bee houses to show their commitment to the environment and use the extra wax for their official wax seals.

Our students then went for lunch on the Royal Mile and took a scenic route back to campus to have some downtime to prep for their first rehearsal since we were all met in May. The energy they brought was electric and reminded us of the joy of theatre! We are excited to see where this journey will take us next.
