Sightseeing: Stirling Castle, Kelpies, and more!

Charlotte Ghaeli
Today was our day of sightseeing! We were up bright and early—9 AM—and hopped onto a tour bus to check out the beautiful Scottish countryside. Our guide, a super jolly local, took us through humongous green fields filled with baby sheep and tons of cows. We saw gorgeous palaces peeking through the trees, and the mountains and hills were so high, just thinking about climbing them made me want to pass out.
Thankfully, we didn’t have to and instead went straight to our first stop, Stirling Castle.

Stirling Castle is high up on a hill, and it made the world look tiny. We explored the beautiful gardens, hidden cells, and all the amazing history the castle had to offer.
After the castle, we drove further out to visit Loch Lomond. It’s one of the biggest stretches of water in Great Britain, and it was absolutely stunning. The mountains, the views, and the sun reflecting off the water were so magical and Scotland like. It was a rare sunny day, making everything feel even more cheerful just to add on to the bliss. We dipped our toes in the loch, watched families and friends having picnics, and saw kids and dogs splashing around. The whole vibe was super welcoming and wholesome.

Next we arrived at The Kelpies. These two giant horse heads in a canal were incredible. They were so detailed and huge, it was mind-blowing.

After a long day, we decided to check out some shows.  I saw two really cool shows, one about Greek mythology and another about the life of Jimmy Connors. Both were so fun to watch, and I was glad I got to see them. By then, it was late, so we headed back to the dorms to get some sleep for the next day to come
