Same Team: “No Scotland, No Party” & Dracula on Love Island

Leah-Felicity Bay and Liam Riley
Day nine in Edinburgh was an exciting day at the Fringe. This was the first time I truly experienced the exhilaration and chaos of rushing from show to show; literally having to sprint to make it to our second show. We were given the opportunity to plan out our own days according to the type of shows we wanted to see.
It was great having that freedom to go and watch theatre we were each truly interested in because I felt I could truly immerse myself and offer my full attention to these shows because I was captivated by their subjects or the topics they discussed. The performances seen that day ranged from a broadway play about a creative writing professor, a mob comedy, a show about dementia, getting hypnotised, a very realistic flight simulator, and a puppet show.

My favourite show from that day was the last one we watched called “Same Team”. This high-energy, and dynamic play was about a team of five Scottish women who form a soccer team in attempt to win the Homeless World Cup. It was yet another hectic but entertaining day at the Fringe.

On day 10 of our GEO, we started the day off with our second performance of Away Went The World, which was also our final performance with Cast A. The rest of the day consisted of a lot of running around to many shows, some all together and some in smaller groups.

A highlight of the day was an improvised musical show by the company Baby Wants Candy. At the start they take a suggestion for the show, and they ended up using our idea: Dracula Love Island. It was a hilarious night show that we all thoroughly enjoyed. Overall a chaotic but exciting day out in Edinburgh.
