Culture Shock

One of the many beauties of coming to Groton is the diverse group of students. This was put on full display this summer, when I was lucky enough to have a friend from school visit me.
The North Carolina beaches were very different from the towering skyscrapers of Beijing. During this week-long trip, there were many firsts: the first Low Country Boil, first 4th of July in the USA, first time catching a shark, first time at Bojangles, first time eating southern barbecue, a country music concert, and much more. This proved to be one of the best weeks of my summer. The exposure that Groton gives you to people from all across the globe not only creates a unique learning environment on campus but also plenty of fun opportunities away from campus.
